I am a 21 years old art student and I´m always trying to develope my skills. I´m drawing since I can say a word and during the last years I fell in love with drawing portraits. Meanwhile I´m trying to change my spectrum in order to get away from strict portrait drawings, it´s always great to do that but in the long run it´s also quite monotonous. At the moment I´m want to get away from pencils and do more in oil, I love painting and it´s so great to work with colours.
I think I´ll never get away from painting/drawing faces or human beings. I love to imagine how the life behind the eyes is and in addition to that I can´t stand how superficial some people are, so I want to see the face behind it. So I love it to portray people who look perfect at first view, but after it you see more in them, perhaps loneliness and perhaps even anger, but never superficiality. I don´t like it when people say realistic pictures are less creative than abstract pictures are, I hear that quite often and it always makes me upset. I don´t draw or paint just in order to show beauty as I did some time ago, I like it to plunge into personalities.
I´m an ethnical mix what is also playing a big role in my pictures as well as a bit of violence, I´d love to explode in my paintings but well, I can´t, and it´s the same in real life. I´m always thinking what I could do and in the end I do a clean, g-rated version of what I actually want, when I paint and in real life as well. That can be really annoying. So sometimes I paint in order to get out of myself, but even there everything ends up clean and silky. Sometimes I want to do something that is abstract but it´s kind of impossible. Suddenly there is a face and then I try do make it look realistic.
I love going to museums and see works of old masters. To me it is as if you´re standing in front of great souls. Also I love listening to persons I don´t know while they´re trying to analyze artworks. It´s always funny how provocative a naked woman still can be to some people and it´s also interesting to hear what they think.
Also I love watching movies and I always do that while I paint. It´s inspiring and distracting as well. I never do just one thing.
Someday I want to live in a small house next to a sea in sweden and in the middle of Rome as well and I hope I could someday live from what I like doing most, what is painting and writing. Wherever I´ll be, I´d never want to have a boring, normal life with a 9-5 job, a fitted kitchen and a patterned sofa or a strict plan for every day at all. There must be more and there should also be a credit card, a coffee machine, much swedish cider and some other things with which I can ruin my physical health. Oh and I´d also like to have a squirrel monkey, a mongolian yurt, a volvo amzon, an assistant who is just grounding canvases for me all day and a kalashnikov.
I´d love to get better in technical things in order to be able to express myself better someday. I hope you can help me to get better and criticism is always welcome!
In this sense, thanks for every comment, watch and fave, it means a lot!
